Is Ankita Lokhande Going To Pip Parineeti To Star Opposite Salman?
The female lead of Salman Khan's upcoming wrestler-drama Sultan has turned into the mystery of the season.

Strutting ahead like a dark horse after Parineeti Chopra had been finalised for the role (Parineeti Chopra selected for Sultan, September 19) is TV actress Ankita Lokhande, who has also been in the news for her relationship with another YRF talent, Sushant Singh Rajput.

SpotboyE has it that of the several new faces auditioned by the YRF's casting head honcho Shanoo Sharma recently, Ankita managed to impress the big guns at YRF. This has led them to believe that she would be a good bet in their upcoming Salman starrer.

Says a source, "Ankita has worked on her body and was simply outstanding in her audition. She looked convincingly athletic, which is a pre-requisite for the role (Is Parineeti's drive to get into shape going to go waste?) and when Aditya Chopra saw her footage, he was very impressed."

Same holds true for the film's director Ali Abbas Zaffar (Gunday, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan) who too is in her favour. "The casting needs to be locked by this month's end as the actress needs to undergo many rehearsal sessions before the film goes on floors on November 22," the source reveals.

But if Adi and Ali are on the same page, who is coming between Ankita and the dotted line? Her on-screen partner Salman Sultan Khan.

"Salman needs to approve of Ankita too. If he has reservations considering her overpowering TV background (Ankita became a household name with her TV show Pavitra Rishta), the whole process will go back to square one," the source added.

As you read this, Ankita waits nervously for her phone to flash some good news. Ditto for Parineeti.
